About Shelter Movers:
Shelter Movers provides moving and storage services at no cost to women and children fleeing abuse. We are the only organization of our kind in Canada, and our volunteers are no less exceptional. Every year, in collaboration with community partners, our volunteer teams contribute over 15,000 hours to support people transitioning to lives free of violence and abuse. Our Montreal chapter will launch shortly. We are growing and looking to add caring and compassionate people to our volunteer team.
? Reports directly to the Chapter Director (CD) and meets regularly with the CD to provide critical updates regarding SM moving operations; provides reports and statistics where necessary to demonstrate the effectiveness of current operational policies and procedures
? Responsible for the dissemination and understanding of all Operational Policies and processes to Supervisors of the Intake, Move Coordination, and Scheduling, and Lead Movers teams;
? Chair regular Operations Meetings to address operational concerns with Intake team, Scheduling team, Move Coordination and Lead Movers;
? Available by phone and on Slack to discuss any urgent operational issues, i.e. for ongoing moves;
? Develops and maintains relationships with shelters and other referral agencies by delivering informational presentations, checking in with agency managers routinely and directly addressing concerns when they arise.
? Works closely with Volunteer Services Manager to coordinate efforts and ensure operational needs are being met effectively;
? Manages ongoing and temporary projects (student placement program etc.) as needed;
? Remains available to facilitate orientation sessions as needed.
? Works with Volunteer Services Manager to identify role gaps and create appropriate job descriptions;
? Develops and implements operational procedures that continue to enhance operational performance;
? Prepares updates to operational manuals (Intake, MC, Scheduling,Lead Mover, Mover)
? Provides supervision to leads of all operational functions;
? Develops and maintains applicable training for Intake, Move Coordinators, Scheduling Coordinators and Lead Movers;
? Monitors Ongoing Moves document and ensures confidentiality is maintained;
? Remains available as a backup Mover when necessary.
Skills, Experience and Education
? Strong communication and problem-solving skills
? Thorough knowledge of the organization's goals, policies, and procedures
? Deep knowledge of the Violence Against Women sector, specifically women's shelters
? Knowledge of Shelter Movers' operational, philosophy and procedures
? Comfortable remotely leading large team
? Acts ethically and strives for integrity and excellence in all areas of responsibility
? Must complete and pass a criminal background check
? Must sign Shelter Movers' Confidentiality Agreement
? Must attend an orientation session
? Must be approved for the position by Chapter Director and National Operations Director

Estimated Time Requirements and Remuneration:
? Part-time position (~12-15 hours/week)
? Average 3 days per week, including daytime and some evening meetings
